Batchelors x Final Fantasy VII
Remake Campaign

With the upcoming release of the much anticipated video game, Final Fantasy VII Remake we opened discussions with Bachelors, PlayStation and Tescos to position Super Noodles and Pasta’N’Sauce products as the perfect ‘fuel for gamers’. This resulted in a partnership for a limited edition food promotion.

Challenge

We needed to construct a campaign that would raise awareness of this promotion and lead the user through the journey every step of the way. This would consist of designing the product packaging and then promotional content for both print and online. Following this would be in-store artwork and a website where users could learn more and enter the competition.

Finding an effective way to combine the Bachelors and Playstation branding in a way that would best represent both companies was also an important consideration .


First steps - effectively combining Playstation and Batchelors branding

I started by designing the product packaging. Given the small canvas size it was quite challenging to incorporate both brands along with the products’ details and information about the competition.

Considerations like font size and format, along with hierarchy of the design elements were vital. We had regular rounds of feedback with the clients until a happy balance of representation was reached for both. I then oversaw the subsequent design updates for these.

KV Design and in-store artwork

Once the clients were satisfied with the product packaging, I created the KV design that would form the basis of the look and feel throughout this promotion. To maximise attention for a gamer audience, care was put into the typography treatment and the inclusion of additional dynamic elements such as flame sparks. Using the visual cues from this KV, I then created the in-store artwork.

UI Design

Once the KV was established, I used this to create the responsive website. Here consumers could learn more about the promotion and also enter their on-pack codes for a chance to instantly win a prize.

I structured this in a way to guide the user through the essential information about the competition, and created bespoke icons to identify where they could find the codes to enter.
